For many kids, the back-to-school season has arrived, and so has the perfect movie for a back to school pity party. Based on the incredibly popular children's book series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid follows Greg Heffley, a middle-school student who is trying to find his place in the social scheme of things. Ironically, the harder he tries to climb the social ladder, the lower he goes. The movie is full of grody comedy that kids love and contains some rude language as well as bullying and practical jokes, but there is a positive overall message about friendship, loyalty, and being yourself.
So, break out the popcorn and M&Ms (our favorite family movie treat), and invite your kids and their friends to sit down for the last late night hurrah of summer. Or, you could go with some themed movie treats - say, slices of cheese?
