$228+ exhausted LOST million in Hawaii during stripping

The hit ABC television show LOST spent over $228 million on the Hawaiian Islands over the last four years. This figure was revealed in a FOIA request by the Honolulu Advertiser. The paper wanted to know how large a tax break was received by the production, about $32 million it turns out, and if that helped keep the production ‘local’.

LOST just wrapped its final few live shots and is in the process of ending its presence in the state. But the Walt Disney Company isn’t leaving Hawaii high and dry, they’ve already started production of the fourth Pirates of The Caribbean movie in the state.
